Chelsea Clinton Engagement Ring
Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding was one of the most anticipated events of the year. Not only did her wedding cause a major ruckus among the press, but her engagement ring was also of equal media jabber. The engagement ring was not just a ring but it seemed synonymous with her personality and character. While the ring itself is incredible, it is more modest than what most people expected. Nonetheless, there have been attempts to replicate the ring since the moment of its debut and for good reason.

Although the exact cost of the engagement ring is unknown, it has been said that the engagement ring cost almost $1 million dollars. Since this cannot be confirmed, the official price of the engagement ring remains unknown. In either event, if you are shopping for engagement rings, and like Chelsea Clinton’s engagement ring, you can find something similar with an affordable price tag.

Since there is not any official confirmation in regards to the engagement ring from either Chelsea or her now husband, Marc Mezvinsky, the actual specifications are unknown and can only be speculated at this point. However, it appears that Chelsea’s ring is more along the lines of traditional yet forward in its design.

From outward appearances, the diamond’s cut appears to be emerald, princess or Asscher cut diamond, which is more on the traditional side of engagement ring cuts. The band is a combination of platinum and diamonds. The diamonds on the band are small and almost appear to be a set flush inside the platinum band. Although it seems impossible, it is actually possible to recreate such a ring on an affordable scale.

Reaching back to the 1960′s, Girard-Perregaux, in celebrating their 220′TH anniversary, has recreated a 1966 watch design that reflects classic styling combined with a new tasteful color scheme that is both easy on the eyes and very functional.

Moving back in time to capture the look of fine white gold, they have spiced this offering up a little by adding a touch of blue to create a very pleasant looking color combination on this watch. A 40mm chronograph featuring column wheels and a 30-minute counter, this timepiece comes with a see through back case so one can also enjoy viewing the CP030C0 movement developed and produced exclusively by Girard-Perregaux.

In unrelated news, Jorg Gray, the American watch brand, has announced that it is releasing a limited edition watch in honor of Alex Tagliani. As Jorg Gray’s brand ambassador, Tagliani will be honored with the creation and distribution of model 9100-77, which features a Swiss ISA chronograph movement designed in a fashion to imbue a sense of speed, and skill that was necessary to set a qualifying speed of 226 MPH in the 2010 Indianapolis 500.

It is no coincidence that Jorg Gray intends to limit the release of this model to exactly 226 pieces as well. The watch is expected to retail in the neighborhood of $995 and is expected to be available sometime in June of 2011.

Brand ambassadors for Richard Mille, Rafael Nadal and Bubba Watson, have both been on a collective tear lately in their respective sports of tennis and golf. Rafael wears a RM 027 designed exclusively for him, and he recently claimed victory in the Tourino de Monte Carlo. Bubba Watson recently won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans while wearing his RM 038 Tourbillon.
