Archive for Jewelry Stores

We all have them – those jewelry pieces that we love to keep but don’t love to wear. They’ve been stashed away in our jewelry boxes for years, waiting for the day that we bring them out to show off to the world. Well, maybe it is time that you let go of the bond that you have with this jewelry, make some extra money, and sell your old jewelry to someone who will treasure it and show it off like it deserves.

Although many people don’t realize it, selling your old Tanzanite jewelry can add several pretty pennies to your bank account. It may be used, but that doesn’t mean that it is worthless. There are many people out there who are willing to pay good money for your old jewelry. Here are some tips to help you sell to Tanzanite Jewelry buyers.

Tip #1 – Get your jewelry appraised

The first step to selling your jewelry is to have it appraised by a professional. The value of your jewelry will depend on many things including the condition of the piece, the demand for the piece, the size of the gems, the type of material, and the rarity of the piece. Because so many factors are involved in calculating the value of your jewelry, doing so yourself is not advised (unless you are a professional appraiser). By understanding what your jewelry is worth, you will know exactly what to ask for it and will be able to spot scammers immediately. Do not accept ridiculously low offers for your jewelry. You probably won’t get your asking price, however, Tanzanite is in high demand and you will be able to find someone who is willing to pay fairly.

Tip #2 – Decide where you will sell

There are many different places that you can sell you Tanzanite jewelry to buyers. You can, of course, take your jewelry to local pawn and jewelry shops. However, many dealers and personal sellers are now taking their business online. With the internet, you can reach out to thousands of potential buyers, increasing the possibility of making a sale. Also keep in mind that there are many online businesses that will be willing to buy your jewelry for a reasonable price.

Tip #3 – List the details

When selling your Tanzanite jewelry, you want to give your potential customers as much information about the piece as you can. Keep in mind that if you are selling online, the information you give will be the only thing that the shoppers have to go by. Thus, the more details you provide, the higher your chances of making a sale. Also, be honest. If your Tanzanite ring is not in tip-top condition, don’t tell buyers that it is. Doing so will only reduce your reputability; making it difficult for customers to trust you should you try to sell again.

Tip #4 – Insure your delivery

Once you have made a sale, insure your delivery. Tanzanite jewelry can be worth a lot of money, so you want to make certain that if it is lost or broken in the mail, you have the insurance to cover it.

Tanzanite jewelry is a beautiful and hot commodity and people will be willing to pay good money for your used pieces! If you have old Tanzanite jewelry that you no longer wear, don’t keep it stashed away – sell it and make some extra cash!

When it comes to selecting an engagement ring, not all stores are the right choice. Some stores will provide you with great service and high quality rings, and other stores, well, not so much. When searching for an engagement ring store, it is important to know the difference between the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here are some tips to help you pick out the good rather than the bad!

1) Full Price vs. Half Off

We have all seen them – the jewelry stores that offer half off engagement ring sales. When you see these sales, beware! They may be a great deal, but in most cases, they represent the ‘bad’ of engagement ring stores. Think of it this way – if a jeweler can afford to drop their price by 50%, how much extra are they making on their regular sale prices? Many engagement rings stores increase the price of diamonds by 200-300%. So, even though you feel like you are getting a great deal at 50% off, you may want to take a double look. Search for a store that has low everyday prices, not extreme half off deals.

2) Pick out the sales tricks

When it comes to jewelry, there are many jewelers who will do anything it takes to make a sale. Try to avoid these stores. When it comes to engagement rings, you only want the best. And in finding the best, you need a sales representative who is going to be honest and open with you. If your jeweler tells you “this ring cannot be found anywhere else” or “this ring will be gone by the time you get back”, it may be time to find a new jeweler.

3) Test their knowledge

As said previously, when picking out an engagement ring, you only want the best. Unfortunately, when it comes to diamonds, the average person may have a difficult time telling the difference between high quality and average diamonds. This is where the sales representative comes in. A good jewelry store will have knowledgeable representatives that can answer any questions that you have and that will take the time to show you your different options.

4) Beware of social issues

When it comes to the ugly side of engagement ring shopping, things can get uglier than you may think. The 2006 movie, Blood Diamond, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, brought some of the social issues surrounding diamond extraction to life. While most of the diamonds we purchase are legitimate, some are extracted within war zones. Do not support this! When buying an engagement ring, be sure that your ring comes with a conflict-free diamond policy that outlines social and environmental issues. If your ring does not come with one of these, it is time to find a new store.

5) Beware of scams

Another ugly side of engagement ring shopping is the scams. While most ring stores are completely legitimate, there are some scammers out there. To avoid being caught up in a scam, always choose a store that is reputable. Also, know your diamonds. Do your research before you purchase and know what to look for. Most importantly, if something seems fishy, it probably it!

Shopping for engagement rings in San Diego is one of the most exciting things to do. And while there are plenty of great engagement ring stores, there are also some bad and some ugly engagement ring stores. Use the tips outlined above to help you find the good and avoid the bad and the ugly!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) looks at claiming that you are selling at wholesale prices while charging retail as unfair and an illegitimate means of promoting your business; end of statement. Doing so can get you quickly into some real hot water. Most people know that since the dawn of the middleman, people have salivated at the notion of being able to buy at wholesale prices instead of retail prices.

Next to direct from the manufacturer, wholesale is the next best thing, so it is very tempting to just promote your products as being up for sale at deeply discounted prices that are “close to wholesale” when in reality you have done nothing of the sort.

One of the many ways that unscrupulous retailers work to promote these sales at what they claim to be wholesale prices is by raising their listed retail price so high that when they “discount it” it will appear to be at a wholesale price.

It will appear as if you are saving a ton of money when in reality you are not. The net purchase price is still at retail pricing when all is said and done. What these retailers fail to realize is that although they think they are just being shrewd businessmen, they are actually breaking the law.

The terms “wholesale” and “retail” have very specific definitions. FTC guidelines clearly specify that retailers should not advertise, by any means, a retail price as a wholesale price. The unfortunate reality is that some retailers just continue to ignore or are simply unaware of this FTC requirement.

The plain and simple truth is that regulators at the FTC are unfortunately too busy to catch every violator, so caveat emptor (let the buyer beware) is still a mainstay when it comes to participating as a consumer in the retail markets.

In today’s fast paced world, it’s often more convenient to buy many items online. However, if you’re looking for a piece of special jewelry, the advantages of shopping at diamond stores can be many.

One of the benefits to shopping in a San Diego jewelry store you can walk into, is that you will be able to try the pieces on yourself. If you’re looking for rings, being allowed to put it on your finger, lets you to admire it up close and personal before you buy it. This is something that can’t be done when you shop online.

A lot of times, the pictures that you see of pieces for sale online can be deceptive. Oftentimes, a picture does not and cannot show the brilliance (or lack thereof) of an item you wish to buy. This is especially true when it comes to gemstones. In person, you’re also able to inspect the craftsmanship of the piece you desire.

Many places online do allow you to return items if you’re not satisfied, but you will usually have to pay for shipping all over again and you’ll have to wait for a refund or for the item to be replaced. When you buy offline, whatever the situation, it can often be remedied the very same day in a lot of cases.

When you’re going to be purchasing a piece of jewelry and you want to make sure it’s a piece that you’re going to love from the moment you try it on, it could be best to forgo the online shopping in favor of a more personal experience. Being able to hold a gem up to the light and watch how it sparkles is something you can’t do with a picture. No matter how great the description is, being able to see it for yourself is worth much more than words.

The Benefits Of Diamond Store Financing
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

Jewelry stores offer their customers exquisite products for their pleasure. In order to make the experience of shopping for diamonds with them a rewarding one, many suppliers provide incentives which benefit the persons who shop with them. The benefits of diamond store financing are many and varied.

Financing Available for San Diego Diamonds

In typical stores there are no requirements for an application to be made, so there is no time wasted on completing those forms. As no prior approval is needed, there are no credit checks done on prospective clients. In addition, no interest is charged and there is not likely to be a change in the original price quoted. These are the usual terms offered to clients.

The payment plans are normally available for between three and six months. Customers are allowed to make down payments from 10 percent to 25 percent of the purchase price, with the balance payable at any time within the time frame. The remaining balance can be facilitated with the use of a credit card by selecting specific dates for payment.

This schedule is designed with the convenience of the customer in mind. The service is free, and access is immediate. As soon as a down payment is made on an item, that price is locked so that subsequent price increases do not apply to that product for that client.

Typically, until full payment is made the product remains the property of the stores. The down payment is nonrefundable in the event of a cancellation before completion. There is a 60-day time frame for completion of a purchase, and again the down payment is nonrefundable for non-compliance.

The benefits of diamond store financing facilitate a shopping experience that is convenient and pleasurable. Customers are able to lock in prices on selected items by making down payments. Compliance with the terms of the plans guarantees the acquisition of exquisite products.
