As all regular ring wearers know, there are some days when your rings fit perfectly and others when the just don’t. Whether your fingers have swelled overnight or the cold weather is making your rings a bit loose, your fingers aren’t always the same size.
If you and your fiancé have begun shopping for your wedding bands, you are probably wondering how you can ensure that the rings you pick are sure to fit on your wedding day – and every day afterward! While we can’t promise that your ring will fit perfect every day, we can help to make sure the ring you choose fits your finger under all but the most extreme circumstances.
Measure Multiple Times
There are so many factors that can affect the size of your hands, that we recommend having your ring finger sized a couple different times to ensure that you have found the best fit. A professional sizing with an experienced jeweler will help to ensure your ring fits perfectly, but it is still important to remember that seasonal changes can affect your fit.
If possible, the best time to visit your jeweler for a ring sizing is mid-afternoon. Most individual’s fingers tend to be at their largest stable size around this time, but there are a few other factors to take into consideration.
Exercise and heat causes your fingers to swell, so don’t head straight from the gym to your fitting. Also, if you’ve just come inside on a cold day, give your hands plenty of time to warm up before trying on potential wedding bands!
CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS
If you are facing a special circumstance, like enlarged knuckles, there are a few different options your jeweler can suggest to you to help create the best fit. Anti-roll beads, spring bars and adjustable shanks can all help you get the fit you desire for the ring you will be wearing for many years to come.
Keep these tips in mind as you begin trying on wedding bands, and remember that your ring can always be resized at Diamonds Forever if your size does change. Start your wedding band search with us online, or visit our San Diego shop to work with our experienced team. We look forward to your visit!
