Frequently asked questions

Do you send my jewelry out?

No, all appraisals are done in-house. We also offer "while you wait" appraisals for an additional fee.

Do I need the original receipt or Certificate?

No, but having a grading report from a lab like GIA does help with the value. We still independently test and verify the stone with or without a grading report.

Will my insurance company accept this appraisal?

Yes, As a GIA Graduate Gemologist and member of the National  Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA), our reports meet the documentation standards required.

How long do appraisals take?

Most appraisals for insurance take about 2 hours for each item. Estate appraisals take about 4 hours for each item.

Do i need to update my appraisal over time?

Most insurance companies prefer to have an appraisal that was done within the last year to start service. They may require an update every 3 to 5 years to ensure adequate coverage.

how much does an appraisal cost?

Most items start at $160 per item for an insurance appraisal, but may change based on the complexity of the piece. We will always let you know the exact price before we begin any work.

About

Brand

FOR EVERY PURPOSE,

Provides a fair, well-documented valuation for inheritance, asset division, donation, or probate proceedings. Estate values are typically centered around the value of what a willing buyer and a willing seller would agree to.

Establishes what it would cost to replace your jewelry at retail if it's ever lost, stolen, or damaged. It's the exact documentation your insurance would need to cover it properly.

Gives you an honest and current value on what your item is worth in today's market. This appraisal is useful before you sell to a private party, trade, or consign it.
